We Shall Hear Angels Digital Art

The creative challenge this week over at the Collage Obsession blog is Season of Light, so I've made this Digital Collage for that inspiring holiday challenge.

We Shall Hear Angels Digital Art

The quote, in case you're wondering, is from Anton Chekhov. It spoke to me and really inspired me for this challenge. And I love angels, so it seemed perfect.

Losing Mom Digital Art

The challenge this week at Collage Obsession is to use A Quote as inspiration for an art work. Since the holidays tend to make me a bit melancholy and miss my mom even more, I decided to let that serve as my muse for this Digital Collage creation.

Losing Mom Digital Art

The quote is from a scene from The Vampire Diaries. That's my favorite show on TV, and as dumb as it may sound, I cry every time I watch that episode where Damon utters these very words to the gravestone of his best friend, Alaric. I'm not so much crying for Damon as I am for my mom. I don't think I'll ever stop missing her.

It's not my best art work ever, but it's certainly one of my most meaningful.

NAIH, Mom.

Renaissance Lady Digital Collage

I was checking out this weeks' creative challenge on the Collage Obsession blog and the theme is Renaissance Woman, so I created this Digital Collage for that challenge.

Renaissance Lady Digital Collage

A beautiful Renaissance Lady, some vintage hues, some digital elements, and a touch of magic helped me to create this digital art.

Delena Kiss Digital Art

There's a new challenge up this week at the Collage Obsession blog, and theme this week is Butterflies. I was in the mood for some Vampire Diaries art too, so I decided to create some Digital Art with a TVD theme, but it also includes a butterfly. This digital collage, Delena Kiss, is my creation for the challenge.

I'm still Team Delena...all the way to the end!

Rose Girl Digital Collage

Time for another collage challenge at the Collage Obsession blog. :) The theme for this week's challenge is Faces.  So I used one of my favorite vintage photos of a sweet girl carrying roses to create my Digital Collage.

So many of those vintage photos are so dreamy looking and the faces are so beautiful. It was easy to be inspired by this one to make a digital collage. :)

Man In the Mirror MJ Digital Art

Time for another challenge over at the Collage Obsession blog. The theme this week is "Man." We need to have "man" as our theme, or use the word, "man." So I decided to create some  Michael Jackson Art that went with that theme. And I came up with my Man In the Mirror digital art.

Man in the Mirror Michael Jackson Art

This photo is the work of one of my favorite photographers, Annie Leibovitz. She takes amazing photographs and I continue to be awed by her talent. She photographed Michael more than once, and the images (including this one, I believe) appeared in Vanity Fair magazine. And since Michael recorded the song, Man In the Mirror, I thought this photograph was the perfect subject for my digital collage. It is as much an homage to Annie as it is to Michael. It also includes sheet music from the actual song as prat of the design. I hope you like it.

A willow deeply scarred
Somebody's broken heart
And a washed out dream
(Washed out dream)
They follow the pattern of the wind ya' see
'Cause they got no place to be
That's why I'm starting with me.

I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you wanna make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself and then make a change...

Winged Beauty Digital Collage

This week's theme at the Collage Obsession blog is Shades of White. So I've created a Digital Collage just for this challenge: Winged Beauty.

Winged Beauty Digital Art

I used a vintage photo of an angel as the focal point of the digital collage, and everything is shades of white and grey. There is a slight hint of blue too, but it's very subtle. I thought this was a wonderful challenge as Winter begins. And I love working with vintage photos, and angels too, so this was fun to create.

Michael Jackson Ultimate Entertainer

This piece of Michael Jackson Art was inspired by this week's Entertainers Challenge at the Collage Obsession blog. You know how it is with me and Michael Jackson. :)

Michael Jackson Entertainer Digital Art

Ever the ultimate entertainer, and one of my favorite inspirations. Michael Jackson forever!

Forest Beauty Collage

This week's challenge at Collage Obsession is the color Brown, so this Digital Collage is inspired by that challenge.

The vintage photo I used was my starting point for this digital collage. Then I just added some vintage lace, a clock image to represent passing time, and a little touch of magic here and there.

Happy Owl-oween ATC

There's another collage challenge over on the Collage Obsession blog. This week's theme is Owls, so I thought I'd get in the Halloween groove and create a digital ATC. I came up with this Happy Owl-oween ATC for the challenge.

This little owl looks ready for a little trip into Boo-ville, wouldn't you say?

Moonlight Serenade Collage

The Collage Obsession blog has a great challenge this week also, its theme is Reflection. So I created this Digital Collage that was inspired by their theme. It's called Moonlight Serenade.

Moonlight Serenade Digital Collage

This was made using a photograph my mother took before she passed away in February. The photo was on her camera. I enhanced it just a bit, and then added the other elements that I wanted to appear in the collage. So I couldn't have made this collage without my mother's wonderful eye for a beautiful sunset.

Timeless Beauty Digital Collage

Time for another great challenge at the Collage Obsession blog. The challenge theme is, Time. So I've entered another one of my Digital Collages for this challenge.

Timeless Beauty Digital Collage

I started with one of my own digital photographs of a full moon that I took over the winter. I edited it quite a bit to enhance the colors and clean up the image--because it's a challenge to get a good photo of a full moon! I added a clock image to the moon, a beautiful lady image by Leonardo da Vinci,  and then all the additional graphic elements to embellish the collage and try to match its theme. I really love how it turned out.

Mr Right Now Digital Collage

Just created my digital collage for this week's Digital Collage Challenge, Lazy Days, over at Collage Obsession. They provided an image we needed to use, which is the imaged dubbed "Ursula." How we used her is up to us. But my creation is called Mr Right Now.

Mr Right Now Digital Collage

My Ursula is spending her lazy days waiting...for Mr. Right Now. ;) I used a black and white photograph of my own of some wet leaves to be my background for the image. Then I added a flower to Ursula's hand, because she looks like she loves flowers. And then I just did a creative frame effect around the entire digital collage.

MJ Smile Digital Collage

This week's Collage Obsession Challenge is Tramp. The creation has to feature either an image of Charlie Chaplin as The Tramp, or it has to express the word "Tramp" in some other way. As soon as I saw this theme, I knew exactly what I'd be doing. But before I share it with you, I need to share with you a little bit of trivia about Michael Jackson and Charlie Chaplin.

  • Michael Jackson was a huge Charlie Chaplin fan.

  • MJ loved the song, Smile, which was composed by Charlie Chaplin.

  • Michael recorded Smile in 1995, but he never performed it live. However, near the end of his History tour, the song was played at the beginning of the concert, in memory of Princess Diana.

  • Smile was sung at MJ's Memorial on July 7, 2009, by his brother, Jermaine.  Michael's version of the song then hit the Billboard Hot 100 Digital Songs, along with the UK and Swiss singles charts.

  • In addition to being a musical artist, Michael was also a visual artist.

  • Michael drew Charlie Chaplin many times.

I hope you like this addition to my growing collection of Michael Jackson Art. I loved creating it!
