Creativity Let it Bloom

I'm hoping to take a break from my lesson planning and other school prep tomorrow so that I can get into my studio. But you know what they say about the best laid plans. At any rate, I haven't posted in awhile since I've been so busy with teaching (and all that goes with it). So, I thought I'd post a little past artwork to help inspire you--and me--to get creative.

I played around digitally with some of my previous Pink Poppies Mixed Media art. I added a quote to it as well. I love pink and flowers in general. But I tend to be drawn to poppies for some reason. Here's to warmer weather, lots of flowers, and much more studio time once I'm off school for the summer!

Peony Digital Sketch 2012

I was out in my yard snapping some photos of the peonies, which are in full bloom. They are one of my absolute favorite flowers and I seem to photograph each year's blooms. This evening I took one of my photos and created this Peony Digital Sketch for My Digital Sketchbook.

Believe it or not, this was a photograph of a white peony when I started. I wasn't in love with the original photo, but I am indeed in love with the digital sketch I created from it. Yay for peonies!

Peony Photographs

The holiday weekend was a wonderful chance to get out and enjoy some sunshine and a bit of nature as well. So I grabbed my camera to get some photos at the same time.

Peonies are some of my absolute favorite flowers. They are so beautiful, and their scent is just heavenly! We bring some of these in each Spring and put them in a vase, and their scent fills the room for days on end. I just love them.  Hope you enjoy the photographs.
