Sunflower Digital Art

I decided to start sharing and selling my art on Fine Art America‘s site. I’ve been a member of that site for awhile but have never sold anything on there before, so I thought I’d give it a try. People can order prints, art on canvas, greeting cards etc at really great quality and prices. I don’t have a ton of art on there yet, but I did several sunflower art pieces. Here’s on example.

You can order Sunflower Prints from me or any artist you like. Feel free to visit my gallery, if you like too. Tina Grimes Fine Art at FAA. I hope to grow my gallery over time!

Trumpet Flower Time

I love this time of year–not for the relentless heat that we’ve had for most of the summer. Rather, I love it because it’s the time of year the Trumpet Flowers are in bloom!

Trumpet Flowers

These Trumpet Flowers came from the yard of my husband’s late grandmother. We took some clippings after she passed away 13 years ago and planted them in our yard. They survived two moves within the yard, which was no small feat since these flowers don’t tolerate replanting all that well! Others in the family took some clippings too, but we are the only ones with any of these flowers still growing. They bloom at night and then close with the heat of the day. I just happened to snap a photo of them on a partially overcast morning, after a light rain. They are beautiful. I’m so glad to have them in my yard each summer.

Know who else liked Trumpet Flowers?? Georgia O’Keeffe! See for yourself.

I love Georgia’s flower works. She was inspired to paint, and I was inspired to take a photo. But I love that we both liked Trumpet Flowers. :)

Mom’s Lily

The hubs and I traveled to Texas last week to settle some things with my mother’s estate. Spent a lot of time at her house, and found a lily growing in her back yard, all by its lonesome. I had to take a photo of it.

Bay City Michigan Photos

The Hubs and I recently went to Bay City, Michigan for our anniversary. I took some Nature Photos and Flower Photos while we were there, so thought I’d share them here. Of course, I always manage to find some birds while on vacation too,  and I love birds, so I got one to add to my collection of Birds and Animal Photos too.

These were all taken at the State Park that is on Lake Huron. This is our third Great Lake we’ve visited now.  I usually take beach photos too, but the beach itself wasn’t as scenic as the others we’ve visited, so these were really the only photos I took on that day…they were on a little lagoon that was right at the entrance to the lake. That was really pretty at least!

Peony Fairy Digital Collage

Since I have some other peony Flower Photos that I took the other day, I decided I’d play around and create something to add to my Digital Collages. I love flowers, and of course you know I love fairies, so I thought it would be fun to take one of my peony photos and a vintage photo and work my digital magic to create a fairy on the peony.

I really wasn’t that thrilled with this particular peony photo all by itself. But once I added the fairy and her magic fairy dust and did a bit of editing, I fell in love with it.

Peony Photos and Art

As I was walking around with my granddaughter in the front yard the other day, I noticed my peonies were finally blooming. So I whipped out my iPhone and snapped a few photos.  Two of the Flower Photos below are the photos I took, and then the last one is a repeat of one that I turned into digital art for My Digital Sketchbook.

I love my peonies. They are so beautiful and fragrant. I have a bunch in vases in my kitchen right now, and when I walk in the house from outside I can smell them…they smell so pretty. One of the few joys of summer for me.

Lilacs Digital Sketch

I’m still having a ball doing lots of digital creations lately. It is so nice to be able to do something creative, even when I can’t get into my studio. I created another flower entry for My Digital Sketchbook today. It’s from a picture of Lilacs in my daughter’s yard, taken with my new iPhone. So first I’ll show you the photograph of the Lilacs, and then I’ll add the digital sketch, so you can see the Before and the After.

First I must say that I think my iPhone takes great photos. Compared to my old blah cellphone, it’s downright amazing in that regard. And I also just love the watercolor effect that I give to all my digital sketches. And I just completely enjoy being able to get creative in all sorts of media, be it on canvas, paper, glass, or digital…or anything else.

Dylan’s Sunflower

Had to share this photograph here because I just think sunflowers are so beautiful. This one was started from seeds by my grandson, my daughter and myself (along with several others). We’ve been nurturing it since spring and it is now around 12 feet tall! (You’ll want to click to see the full view–much prettier that way!)

Sunflower Photograph

Funny how something like this can just make you smile. Dylan can’t believe how tall this sunflower got.  It’s really the first one he’s ever seen, so he wasn’t sure what to expect. This one is the tallest of the 3 that survived our planting. We’ll have to get some seeds from it and plant some more next year.

I think this would make a great watercolor painting too at some future date.  :)

Red Lily Photographs

These photographs are of some beautiful red lilies that I planted at my daughter’s house late last summer. They are opening up and looking so beautiful for the first time this season, I just had to snap some photos of them.

There’s something so beautiful about a lily…especially one this color. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed photographing it. And gosh, I think I need to plant some of these in my own yard!

Peony Photographs

The holiday weekend was a wonderful chance to get out and enjoy some sunshine and a bit of nature as well. So I grabbed my camera to get some photos at the same time.

Peonies are some of my absolute favorite flowers. They are so beautiful, and their scent is just heavenly! We bring some of these in each Spring and put them in a vase, and their scent fills the room for days on end. I just love them.  Hope you enjoy the photographs.
