Snowman Ornie

This snowman ornie is for yet another swap I participated in last Christmas. I am totally into ornie swaps! I believe I ended up making 16 of these for the swap. I have amassed quite a collection of handmade country primitive ornies for my Christmas tree, which makes for quite a unique tree display! I just love it.

To make this ornie I started with a Styrofoam ball that I covered with SnowTex. It gives it that great look of snow and adds great texture. Then I added a carrot nose I purchased from an online craft supply store, and painted on the rest of the face with craft acrylics. The hat was made with a baby sock; I just cut off the foot part of the sock, tied the end off, and cut slits at the top of it. Then I just sprayed on a touch of adhesive and dusted the hat with mica flakes. Oh, and I added a rusty hook and bell too.  The picture is a little blurry, but I think you get the idea.

Believe Ornie

This ornie is another country primitive ornie I made for a swap this past Christmas. I made 26 of these for the swap. First I used my special “grungy juice” to grungy up a muslin bag and stenciled on the word, “Believe.” I also made a grungy candy cane out of chenille stems, and added some greenery , some pip berries, and a rusty star too.

Mitten Ornie

I am really fond of country primitive crafts and home decor. It’s very warm and welcoming and makes me feel at home.  I have an online store and make quite a few country primitive products that I sell there, and I occasionally create country or prim crafts ornie swaps, or just for fun.

This country primitive mitten ornie was done for an ornie swap in an online community this past Christmas.  With an ornie swap, you make enough ornies to equal the number of people signed up for the swap. I think I made 8 or 9 of these mitten ornies. They were all done with felt, and accented with mica flakes and a rusty pin and bell.
