About

Art Chick Tina Grimes

My name is Tina (a.k.a.. Art Chick) and I am a 40-something gal who has always had a passion for the arts and anything creative. I love to oil paint, but I also dabble in watercolors and other media, when the appropriate muse strikes. I doodle a lot – especially while talking on the phone – and I also enjoy drawing, and visual journaling. I enjoy creating stained glass and etched glass, and many other types of crafts. I dabble in photography, and also in graphic design.

I have a BS in Art Education, as well as a Masters in Education. I was an art educator for ten years, before leaving the profession to try my hand at being an online entrepeneur. I do have the itch to teach again, so we’ll see where that path may lead. But for now, I am content to work from home, running my online businesses, and “playing” in my studio.

My philosophy of Art is simple: Anyone can make Art. Some people have a whole lot of natural skills and talent. Others have a natural ability, but have to work a little bit harder. But either way, anyone can do it. If you focus more on just being creative, and less on how “good” your creations are, then you will be much happier with what you create. It’s really more about the journey than the destination. And in my studio, I call the journey Living Out Loud.
